If you are looking to target and retain salmon in the spring in Southern British Columbia, our Vancouver Island location is tough to beat. While the majority of the Southern BC Coast is closed to salmon retention, our Sidney location (25 minutes outside Victoria) remains open and is one of the only and one of the best places to target and retain hatchery chinook salmon in April and May. Our home base at the Port Sidney Marina, is ideally situated in one of the most productive hatchery chinook salmon waters in Southern BC.
In addition to the calm water salmon fishing, we can also target ling cod in May as the season opens on the 1st of the month. If dropping traps for prawns and crabs is of interest, April is a great month for a seafood safari! Many of our fishing spots are very close to our dock and our average run time is only 10 minutes in the spring!
We offer day charters as well as multi day trips with waterfront accommodation. Our charters are convenient and flexible. We have an amazing location that is only 10 minutes from the Swartz Bay ferry terminal. This means you can easily drive to our fishing charter base via BC Ferries. In fact, we have lots of clients that come over to fish for the day from the Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. If you are looking at flying in, we are only a 5 minute drive from the the Victoria International Airport. There are multiple daily direct flights from Calgary, Edmonton, Kelowna, Vancouver, Seattle and Vancouver to name a few! Give us a call if you want to target and retain salmon in Sidney!
