March Fishing Update
It is definitely feeling like spring out there! We have been enjoying some warmer temps, favourable water conditions and some decent chinook salmon action in Vancouver and Sidney! We are looking forward to the rest of the March with the longer days upon us now. We are open all of Spring Break if you are looking to get out on the water!!

In Vancouver, we have been finding fish in all the usual winter chinook spots. On the flood tide, there has been some nice fish off West Vancouver. Howe Sound has had some flashes of activity in the normal zones on the West Side of Bowen and near Gambier Harbour. The Bell Buoy has kicked out a few fish and we should that area pick up this week as it historically does. We have been using a mix of hootchies and spoons. Outfitter and Bon Chovy Skinny Gs and spackle back and glow hootchies close to the bottom have been good in all locations. If you are loooking to get out in Vancouver and want to keep fish, come before March 31st before we go to non retention. Our Sidney operation will have retention opportunitities for hatchery chinook salmon in April and May.
Crabbing and prawning have been productive in Vancouver in Sidney. We can put crab traps down on all of our charter lenghts. We can drop prawn traps on our longer 8 and 10 hour charters. March and April are great months for dropping traps!

In Sidney, we have found putting your time in and working the tide changes have produced some real nice fish up to 20 pounds. We are excited for the upcoming hatchery chinook opening in April and May. Sidney is a great spot to target and retain hatchery chinook in April and May. It is one of the few places open for salmon retention in Southern BC in the spring.
