Early Summer Fishing Update for Vancouver and Sidney

It has been a good start to summer salmon fishing from our Vancouver and Sidney locations!  Most of our fishing charters are seeing pretty good action in both locations!    The first part of July looks sunny and warm which should be make for some great days on the water!

In Vancouver, we have been primarily focusing on coho salmon in local waters.   There has been good numbers on most days, with most of our trips coming in with some nice hatchery fish for the bbq!   The South End of Bowen, the Hump, and the outer reaches of Vancouver Harbour have all seen their fare share of action.    Trolling fast with white hootchies seems to be a pretty safe bet!   As we progress in to July, we will see more and more pink salmon enter in to the mix.    The Squamish and Indian Rivers have big returns of pinks forecasted this summer.      Chinook salmon are still non retention and we will likely see our first retention opportunities in  start on July 15th on our full days toward the Sunshine Coast and portions of the Gulf Islands.    We are excitied as there seems to be good numbers of salmon around in local waters!

In Sidney, we have been targeting coho, chinook and ling cod with success recently!   We have kept some nice hatchery chinook in Saanich Inlet and some nice coho off Galiano and even the odd one in Saanich Inlet.   Ling cod fishing has been good around Sidney!   Sidney is one of the few places in BC that has chinook salmon retention opportunities 365 days of the year.
